Party Occasions That Spark a Celebration

Party occasions arise every month of the year. However, there are certain times that call for a party more than others.  Life events certainly quality for a party; whether it is a birthday, graduation, marriage, baby or new home.  Holidays are party occasions celebrated by many each and every year.  Sometimes just having a party for the sake of gathering friends and family is enough. But every party deserves the right balance of fun, creativity, great food, good drink, laughter and entertainment.

Decorating for parties is made particularly easy when there is a special occasion.  You can pull ideas from the particular event or from the person the party honors to create a theme.  Many party occasions speak for themselves and you can easily create a festive theme.  Those occasions fall in just about every month of the year:

  • January – New Year’s Eve, Super Bowl
  • February – Valentine’s Day, Mardi Gras
  • March – St. Patrick’s Day
  • April – Easter
  • May – Memorial Day
  • June – Weddings, Graduation
  • July – 4th of July
  • August – A great month to host a luau party to celebrate summer
  • September – Labor Day, the last big hurrah of summer
  • October – Halloween
  • November – Harvest or Thanksgiving
  • December – Christmas, Hanukah, Kwanzaa

Life events call for celebration as they are truly personal.  Certainly birthdays should be celebrated, but there are other occasions where a party is due:

  • Engagement
  • Wedding
  • Graduation
  • Baby
  • New home
  • Promotion
  • Going away

Sometimes celebrating by throwing a party “just because” is enough for gathering friends and family.  Party occasions can be as simple as a cookout in the backyard.  A party can be a casual gathering of associates or friends after work on a Friday night.  You have the guests; all that is required is the food and drink.

To really orchestrate a successful party that is festive and fun for all is to plan.  Prepare a guest list, including those people you know will get along and have fun together.  Decide on a theme.  Order or make invitations and shop for party supplies.  You’ll want to get paper plates, cups, napkins and all the extras to make the atmosphere festive.

Determining the theme and the style of your party – formal or informal – will help you to select the right decorations, supplies and invitations.  There are so many wonderful designs and themes available in party supplies.  Choosing the right ones for your party is a personal choice, but you can enlist the help of friends.  You can even mix and match for an even more festive approach.

Decorating can be truly fun and you can take it as far as your imagination will go.  Create a party atmosphere with streamers, balloons, ceiling danglers and scene setters.  Bunch balloons together for a better effect.  Use various colors of streamers intertwined to create canopies.  Hang banners and decorate the table with sprinkles and confetti.

Party occasions don’t have to be defined in order to have a good time.  You can have a party to celebrate a holiday or life event.  You can have a party just because you want to gather your friends and family.  Whatever the reason for the party, if you plan successfully and incorporate great party supplies, you have a party occasion!
